Cookies policy

Small files and similar technologies help this site remember consent, protect forms, and—only if you allow—understand how readers move between meal guides. This document explains what we store, why it is lawful, and how you stay in control.

Scope and controller

Frozenonthron determines why cookies are used on frozenonthron.ddd. Where processors assist (for example hosting or analytics vendors), they act on documented instructions and may not repurpose data for their own marketing unless a separate lawful basis exists.

Definitions

Cookies are text strings placed on your device when a server responds to a browser request. Comparable tools include HTML5 local storage, session storage, pixels that load with email or pages, and software development kits inside mobile wrappers if we publish them later. This policy uses “cookies” to mean the whole family unless a section specifies a technology.

Legal bases

Strictly necessary cookies rely on our legitimate interest in delivering a secure site or on the “strictly necessary” exemption under the ePrivacy framework as transposed in Denmark and mirrored concepts elsewhere. Analytics and marketing cookies deploy only after you opt in through the consent layer, unless an extremely narrow exemption applies in your jurisdiction.

How consent works here

On your first visit you see Accept All, Reject, and Cookie Settings. Reject keeps optional tags off. Settings lets you toggle analytics and marketing independently while keeping necessary cookies active. Your choice is stored locally so we do not annoy you on every page load. You may reopen preferences by clearing storage or contacting us for a manual reset link if we publish one.

Categories in detail

  • Strictly necessary: session integrity tokens, load-balancer affinity when required, consent state identifiers, accessibility preferences such as reduced motion flags, and fraud screening signals during checkout. Typical lifespan ranges from session-only to twelve months for consent logs.
  • Functional: when enabled, remembers interface choices like collapsed navigation state. Currently bundled with necessary storage where technically unavoidable; if we separate functional tags, they will appear in the settings panel.
  • Analytics: aggregates page views, scroll depth bands, outbound link clicks, and error telemetry. We configure tools to mask IP addresses where possible and rotate pseudonymous identifiers on a schedule aligned with vendor documentation, capped at fourteen months.
  • Marketing: attributes visits to campaigns when you opt in. This may include tags from Google Ads, Google Marketing Platform, or comparable vendors for conversion measurement, remarketing where permitted, and frequency capping. Data may include referrer tags, creative identifiers, pseudonymous IDs, coarse location, device data, and conversion events. Retention follows partner policies but never exceeds twenty-four months without review. These technologies load only after you enable Marketing cookies.

Third-party cookies

Embedded videos, social previews, or payment widgets may attempt to set their own cookies. We delay loading non-essential embeds until you consent and prefer privacy-enhanced modes when available. A living inventory of active sub-processors appears in the privacy policy annex.

Browser controls

You can block or delete cookies through browser settings, but blocking strictly necessary cookies may break forms or security checks. Use our in-site controls first so you receive the minimum disruption needed for your privacy choices.

Children

We do not knowingly use behavioural advertising cookies aimed at children. Parental devices should manage family browsing settings if minors access the site.

International visitors

If you read from Ireland, the wider EU, the UK, or beyond, the same consent standards apply. Some US state laws grant analogous opt-out rights; our banner is designed to honour a global baseline while we monitor regulatory updates.

Data protection measures

Tag management runs over encrypted transport. Access to dashboards requires multi-factor authentication for staff. We review cookie declarations after each major site release and log changes in version control.

Your rights

You may access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to personal data processed via cookies where GDPR or comparable law applies. Withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior lawful processing. Supervisory authorities such as Datatilsynet can accept complaints.

Updates

When we introduce new measurement partners or materially extend retention, we refresh this policy and, where required, re-seek consent. Continued use after a reasonable notice period constitutes acceptance of non-substantive edits.
